Livin’ Green Community EcoFair Event  and Concert  ---  Free Event in downtown Hillsboro

Citizen’s care about and value environmental responsibility.  Livin’ Green brings together green friendly vendors and environmental education vendors in a forum promoting sustainability, impacting our footprint in the world around us and demonstrates environment change in their own homes and everyday lives.

Hillsboro Honors the Legacy of John Denver

4 Hours John Denver Tribute Benefit Concert

15 local bands will be performing John Denver songs to honor the legacy of a great environmentalist and commemorate the 10 year anniversary of his death.  The Windstar Foundation was founded by John Denver in 1976 promoting environmental education. See www.johndenverpnwwindstar.com

Livin’ Green Children’s Section - Environmental Education

Earth the Environmental Clown will be present teaching children about environmental issues on their level.  Sarah Adams (teacher) will be performing John Denver songs on her guitar for the children.  Canned Goods Food Maize on 3rd Street.  Downtown Hillsboro businesses are collecting canned food the entire month of August.  These canned goods will be made into food maize and displayed at the Children’s Section of the Livin’ Green Eco Community Fair.  Children will be able to go through the food maize.  All canned food will be donated to Oregon Food Bank.

WHY:

Oregon Food Bank is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating hunger and its root causes. By collaborating with industry, agriculture and government, OFB secures and distributes high-quality food to a network of more than 780 food pantries and other helping agencies in Oregon and in Clark County, Washington, which in turn provide food to people in need. 

West Willamette Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to generating home ownership and benefiting our community by building simple, decent, affordable housing, in partnership with low-income people, volunteers, donors and organizations, with an emphasis on building neighborhoods.
