We will have a children’s section as well, teaching children about environmental issues on their level. We have also made arrangements for “Eartha Ever Green” the Environmental Clown, to be at the event whose purpose is environmental education for children. The downtown businesses in Hillsboro, Oregon are holding a food drive during the month of August. The canned food collected during this drive will be designed into a food maize for the children. After the event all the food will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.
The concert portion of this event will be a John Denver Tribute Concert, commemorating the 10 year anniversary of his death and celebrate the contribution he made raising world awareness on environmental issues and taking responsibility for our world. John Denver was an environmental activist ahead of his time and it is fitting to honor the legacy he left behind. We have scheduled 4 hours of back to back local bands performing JD music to honor his life and commitment to the world and environment. All bands are donating their time for this event.
